About

I started photographing when I got a Kodak Instamatic camera as a christmas gift, it was when I was ten years old.

I have most of the time been working in other fields but I have always kept photography as a hobby.

I went to a class for one year, studying photography and after that I was working for seven years as a part time freelance photographer, mostly capturing sports events and at that time I was also working full time at a Post Office in several different positions.

Computers

I have always been technically interested so when computers started to become popular then I of course went to several different classes and later I started working with computer repairs and phone support.

Internet

When Internet became available I early found out that there was a big potential, not only to reach and keep contact with people all around the world but also to make money without a big investment.

In 1997 I started my first Internet business, I called it Internetshopen and I was selling computers, computer parts and accessories. I was also custom building computers according to customers specifications. It went relatively good but it's a very competitive market and the margins are small so you have to sell alot to make a descent income. I just didn't have enough visitors to my website to make enough money so I had to get a regular job and I found one developing websites.

Digital Cameras

When digital cameras came along I got one and my old interest for photography came to life again. I started taking a lot of pictures and I bought a couple of good photo printers so I could print photos myself. At first I wasn't pleased with how the pictures printed, so I started reading everything I could find about color management and printing. At that point I didn't even have a color calibrated monitor. It took some work and some investment in color calibration equipment to get the colors right.

In 2003 I started a photography business, Island Photo Place , I do mostly family beach portraits and weddings.

Internet Business

I have tried many different Internet business concepts during the years.The big problem is to get enough visitors to the site from the search engines. Most of the internet offerings are not really helping you build a business, just a website but it's not helping you to get visitors to the website and many are just scams.
