Canon 5D Mark II

beach walkThe Canon 5D Mark II is an amazing camera. It have a 21.1 Megapixels full frame (36 x 24 mm) CMOS sensor which can record both still images and full HD video at 30 fps, 1080p with sound. The viewfinder is large and bright (98% coverage) which is two percentage more than the Canon 5D

The rear LCD monitor is a 3 inch multicoated, antireflective 920.000 dots with 100% viewing coverage.
It have a light sensor below the screen that adjust the brightness of the screen according to available light.
It is easy to see even in bright light.

The 5D mark II have better weathersealing then the 5D but not as good as the Canon 1 series cameras.

The camera uses the DIGIC 4 Image Processor which speeds up the write times to UDMA Compact Flash cards and offers 14 bit A/D conversion and it also make some of this cameras new features possible.

The big thing though is the possibility to make HD video recordings with the full frame sensor with it's excellent low light performance and the big variety of lenses available. The camera is compatible with over 60 Canon EF lenses.

In the beginning...

...of June 2009 I bought the Canon 5D Mark II . The image quality is as good as it gets, I am impressed and so are my customers. It's working flawlessly, I use it mostly for weddings and family beach portraits.

I also bought a battery grip and I think the camera with the grip is well balanced and have a good build quality. It fits my hands fine. I would like to have a lock for the mode dial though, I have accidentely changed mode several times.
To change focus point with the Quick Control Dial is very fast and that's a good thing if you change focus points often, as I do.

The Canon 5D Mark II have now become my main camera and I just love making images with this camera.
