Learn About New Photographic Equipment
If you are like me and want to know about the latest photography tools and if they maybe will deliver a higher quality photo or have some feature that you realize you have been missing all your life, then you find that information on this site.
I buy my equipment from B&H Photo and Adorama. If you click on the text links or any banner or search box you will be redirected to one of those retailers. I highly recommend you buy from them, they are highly recommended.
The hottest and most interesting for me now (September 2008) is the Canon 5D Mark II and the Nikon D90 with the option to record high definition video. I can think of many situations when it would come in handy to have the possibility to record video, like when the bride is walking down the aisle and also part of the ceremony would be nice to have a short video sequense of, as a few examples.
The Sony A900 24.6 Megapixel Full-Frame (24x36mm) CMOS Sensor,
Dust & Weather-Resistant and in camera stabilization for a little under $3000 would also be interesting to try.
RAW Format
I will cover photographing in raw format, which I use most of the time. Here at camera to Print we use Adobe Lightroom to develop the raw files and I also use it as an image management software.
We will look at what type of computer you will need, both Mac and PC and other useful equipment to make working with your pictures easier. .
Wedding Photography
When price is a concern, many people decide to cut
photos out of their wedding plans. But I
encourage every couple to find a way to have their
big day photographed.
You will love being able to look back and relive the
day, especially as the years go by and old friends
and family pass away. You can help keep their memories
alive, and you can give your own children a chance to
see relatives that have long since gone.
Plus, you'll be surprised to see how much you missed
the first time around. You may have been too busy to
notice Aunt Betty getting busy on the dance floor,
but the photographer sure caught it!
As far as cost is concerned, prices can vary wildly so
be sure to shop around. Depending on the size of your
package, your location and the quality of the album
you choose, your photographs could cost anywhere from
a few hundred to several thousand dollars.
.
Experienced photographers will make sure they get all of
the standard pictures, such as the bride with her parents,
the bride with the groomsmen, the groom with his family,
and the couple's first kiss. But if there certain pictures
you can't live without, I strongly advise you to make a
list ahead of time and give it to the photographer.
Photography Basics
Even for the seasoned pro, going over the photography basics learned in the beginning is very important.
It's easy to lose sight of the fundamental skills amid all the options that become available as one progresses,
but the original skills still hold. They provided the basis from which everything else builds.
No camera built can compensate for the skill and knowledge of the photographer. And for the beginner, this knowledge is priceless.
