Nikon Digital SLR

The first generation of Nikon digital SLR Cameras, the D1, was released in 1999.

Nikon was founded in 1917 as Nippon KÅgaku but changed the name to Nikon in 1946. They changed to their current name Nikon Corporation in 1988.

In the middle of the 70's...

... and until the beginning of the 80's I was using Nikon F2 cameras and sometimes Nikon FM. I was shooting mostly sport events.

Since digital came along I have used the Nikon D1x and the Nikon D80. I was not pleased with the image quality if the D1x, not enough details and to much noise (grain), the D80:s picture quality is good though.

In April of 2008 I bought the Nikon D300. The image quality is extremely good, the best photo quality on any camera I have used.

The camera is fast and solidly built. Personally I would like to have a wheel instead of the multi selector in the back of the camera. I change focus point often and I can do that faster with a wheel but that's a minor point.
